Woodcrest was founded in 1987 by a group of individuals seeking to create a church that was both exciting and relevant. The founders were determined to take a fresh approach to accomplishing God’s work.
In the beginning, Pieter Van Waarde, Senior Pastor of Woodcrest, hoped to grow the church, but not from people transferring from other churches. The hope was to connect with people who did not attend church anywhere.
This vision has grown to include Woodcrest Worldwide, an online church, where people can view content and devote time to learning more about Christ’s message.
